The better news is that it will share a platform with the Infiniti siblings instead of that modular platform that it was rumored to share with the next-gen Juke.
7 Speed Dual Clutch makes sense in that it will absolutely be shared with the Infinitis that are very due for that, but I'm worried it may be sourced from Mercedes (the only dual clutch offered by Infiniti currently is the QX30, and that's paired with the Merc's 2.0T)... I'll bet money it's either Mercedes-sourced, or Borg Warner has something cooking for this (that would be my preference)
All in all, it sounds like that $60k figure will absolutely be seen once you option this sucker out.
I always wanted back into a Z, but if they make a manual in this new Z mated to the VR30DDTT, it's possible that drivetrain configuration could make it into a Q50, and a 6MT twin turbo Q50 will be my forever car without a doubt.
Now we can all finally look forward to Tokyo and see what happens!

To back up your point I currently have a 2015 merc with the 2.0 and dct at my disposal and it is not very good. Hopefully they go with another choice than that or that unit with much better tcm and better clutch packs.
