Just for kicks, I used Nissan's Live chat on thier website and asked about any plans or news on the next gen Z, and they responded with no info or news and recommened me to look at the 2017 model.. 
With this type of info I don't expect seeing a new Z for 2018 or any other year any time soon.
I'm guessing Nissan is expecting us to turn to Infinity for future performace cars. Which I'm not going to cough up extra $$$ just for a different Nissan Motors badge.
On top of that we all these new turbo engines and manufactures like Kia and Hyundai coming out with cheap cars that can either outperform the Z or at lease come close, maybe it's just me, but that crap really gets under my skin and drives me nuts. Amen to that! Let's just face the facts Nissan is dead they don't care about the customers! End of story.. now I have to start researching what other car manufacturer I want to go with. I do know the Cayman is starting to look pretty good..
