The main issue with factory nav is that it sucks. The look of the hardware is nice, but the interface and mapping system is so dated. You can update the maps, but you have to pay for a DVD and I saw a video where the guy said it took hours to update the maps.
The best option is to have android auto or apple car play, but Nissan will never bother putting that into the 370z since it's been out for so long now. And I don't think they put it in any of their cars.
If you like modifying, or coming up with a creative set-up, go for aftermarkets. If you just want something that is from the factory and covered under warranty, go with the Nissan version.
If you go aftermarket, shop around for shops. You can always find a review of a place these days. And I'm sure many people here could recommend good shops if you live in the same area as any member here.
