the in-tank connectors are shipped without the rubber dust seals in them.
If the rubber is used in the intank connectors it will swell and extrude out of the connector housing.
It won't clog your fuel filter but the extruded chunks could cover up and restrict your fuel pump strainer until removed. You definitely want to leave the dust seals to the external connectors only since they are not made of a gasoline compatible rubber.
