In general I've been seeing half-assed reviews on ANYTHING on YT. Intentions of the creators are dead-clear: get some views, think they can pass as a knowledgeable person just because they have the product in hand. It's annoying as hell.

Most car reviewers AREN'T car people. They're writers or presenters whom become car people(generally). You want a car guy? You get Tanner Foust; an uninteresting guy whom simply gives statistics. Nothing wrong with the guy, brilliant driver and loves cars but will bore you to death with statistics and numbers. Do car guys enjoy this? Sure but the rest of the masses do NOT.
In order to create a show that gets people watching it BESIDES car guys you need to have a presenter whom can convey the media without putting the audience to sleep. That being said, one also as a automotive journalist needs to become engrossed with automobiles as a passion, which is why the Drive Network on YouTube is so successful. The boom created by the automotive journalism channels on YouTube has created a car journalism renaissance and now everyone and their mother has created a channel. Hell, some of the reviewers aren't even driving the cars as they're loaded onto a flatbed and filmed as if it was being driven.
