So I took my windshield phone holder (made by Taotronics...like $10) by removing the screw that holds a small round threaded piece of plastic to the phone cradle. This piece of plastic is a socket for the windshield arm's "ball". This small round threaded piece was then super glued to the back of the gauge. The windshield mount arm's ball was then popped into the socket and then locked down by the threaded collar. It is completely adjustable and tightens up. This particular brand is great, the rubber part that goes onto the windshield became even more sticky over time so this thing hasn't fallen off my windshield for over 3 years and as sticky as it is I have complete confident it won't.
The one pic shows the camera from my eye level, and if you look closely you can see the windshield mount is actually below my field of view as the mount in within the view of the hood. I changed the color of the needle, values, labels, etc. to be orange to match my OEM gauges.
