I do this as well. Especially the clutch fluid. I came from a BMW and they were insistent that the clutch/brake fluid were changed every 2 years, regardless of miles. Something about being hydroscopic. Being a closed system I don't know how moisture would get in but since I never had clutch or brake issues with the Bimmer, I continue to do the same on the Z.
