When I was at the Mazda dealer back in July during my wife's CX3 purchase, they had a fully optioned MX-5 which I was checking out. I had just purchased my '16 Nismo a week before. The MX-5 was definitely nice but the funny thing was that when I told the salesman I had just purchased a 370Z, he basically told me to forget the MX-5. There was no comparison and I had made the right choice. Funny coming from a Mazda dealer salesman.
Anyway, I still like the MX-5 but it is not meant to be a no-compromise, high performance sportscar. It isn't sold as such either. It is a simple, back to basics, great-handling, quick roadster.
