Cause, in my opinion, folks on car forums read the thread, respond with unrelated questions. My point is that a car gets old. If you purchase a car for investment purposes, I can understand keeping the mileage low, storing through entire winters. If you really bought it because you love the car, then you ought to drive it every day that you can. In most places in the USA, roads are cleared up pretty quickly and you can drive and taking a taxi on bad days is probably cheaper.

Parking lot dents and dings might happen only if you let the cold make you park 50 feet closer and next to badly parked cars.
