That's the rub. There's enough variance in tolerances from the factory that some cars need the whole setup, and some don't. The catch is that you end up re-doing all of the spring install labor to add arms after the fact if you end up needing them. So it's either extra work if you DIY and paying for an alignment twice, or even worse, paying for the install twice if you farm out the wrenching. It's almost big-picture cheaper to get them up front and just install them.
