A Nissan branded battery is no different than the batteries you can get at your local auto parts store - you just pay more to get the Nissan sticker. Unless you are wanting a lighter, "high-performance" battery (eg, the Optimas mentioned above), just get one of the mid-line batteries from a parts store and take care of it.

Most battery warranties I've seen are pro rated (the older the battery is, the less will be refunded) and not really worth much.

You might want to check for a parasitic load on the battery (stereo, radar detector, &c).
