Similar thing happened to me in an old '89 Sunbird. Fairly new tires on it, just driving along, wasn't even speeding at the time (amazingly), and then it was like
BOOM. I had hit the center divider with the front left, spun, and did almost a full 360 and was stopped in the emergency lane. Thankfully there wasn't much traffic, but the guy behind me got out to tell me what he saw.
I didn't see any of it, just suddenly it let go and I was stopped after hearing a bang.
