It was quite a change, but that 80hp 500lb cruiser had its place. It taught me that 80hp on a 500lb bike could put me on par with a 320hp 4,000lb car. It also let me make a lot of beginner mistakes that the Duc would have bitten me in the @$$ for making... I don't regret the HD at all, and it was a great first bike. Slow, yes. Loud, holy **** yeah (my own fault for V&H exhaust). But at the end of the day it was exactly what I needed as a semi-newb rider. And I still maintain that if the Duc had been my first bike I would have gotten myself killed.
