I'm not in the market for an intake manifold and I doubt anyone really gives a sh*t about my $.02, but this statement screams "laziness" when it comes to parts like these. Sounds like the time didn't want to be spent finishing these or the cost of outsourcing the finishing would bring the final cost of the product even higher.

If it were my company and my product, raw finished parts would have to be special ordered so they could be shipped prior to finishing. I wouldn't want "raw" to be the main image of one of my products. Imagine if Nissan showcased their car models in "raw" states. (Blah blah, not the same, blah blah)
