Default Burned rear diff oil

So I was at auto club speedway this past weekend, 100+ degree weather, and I'm sure I burned the fluid. I have an open diff and I was running r-comp tires.

I didn't notice a whine until my third session, and at first I thought it was my tires screeching because I could only hear it at lower speeds, but in just one lap, it went from that, to full screeching under any acceleration and the car was smoking. When I got to the garage and checked it, the breather valve must have been vomiting because they're was fluid everywhere.

Tried to let it cool off, but it was no good and had to limp the car home(no tow truck) l would get it up to 35 mph then coast until I needed to get speed again. I only live 20 mins from ACS

My question: my hopes are that all I have to do is change the diff oil and all will be ok? Or is it possible that I ruined the diff somehow? What should I look for when I change the fluid?

2012 base I had redline in there changed about 9 months prior

Thanks in advance.
