Well I decided to ask Nissan the question only to get the standard evasive answer... (pasted below).

Based on that, going forward, I will probably use the weights recommended in the 2010 manual. I don't think it would make much of a difference but decided to ask.

Please be advised that according your vehicles owner’s manual the differential gear oil for your vehicle is genuine Nissan Differential Oil Hypoid Super GL-5 viscosity SAE 80W-90*5. This information can be found on page 9-2 of your owner’s manual. We can only recommend what has been advised in the owner’s manual.
