Yes, it is known as "The Demon Bolt".. I believe that referrs to the nut that threads onto the top stud (which is installed on the cat flange).

I soaked it in penetrating oil and one of the studs still broke on me.

It's not bad as long as you accept there is a good possibility you will break that stud. Not a big deal since the test pipes will use nut/bolt in its place anyway.

Take your intakes out so you can reach it with a LONG STRAIGHT (no swivels) 1/2" extension and then either use a big breaker bar or strong impact gun. Make sure you have some bolt extractors on hand if you start rounding the nut off. That is what happened on my drivers side (the one where the stud finally broke).
