Depends on which dictionary you use. Oxford may give you something different. For US, that means:
- After he runs out of promises (done)
- After he swore to himself not to jump the gun and get screwed by engineering department (done)
- After he thought better to avoid this thread until he has something concrete to answer (avoidance still somewhat in progress)
- Then some more waiting
