If so, did you have to remove the front pillar garnish, as outlined on page INT-18 (INT.pdf) of the Nissan 370z Service Repair Manual?

It appears Clip 2 is expected to break ( X = Always replace after every disassembly), and would require a replacement to re-attach the cover. So ...
Hoping I can benefit from someone's prior experience, and ideally avoid removing the pillar garnish. Can you run the wire and tuck it securely without having to take off the trim piece(s)?
Thanks!

Clip 2 you have to Twist 90* and then pull it out of the pillar. It is to stop the pillar from hitting your noggin when the airbag goes off. Kenchan was nice to snag some pics for another thread. This should give you a clearer idea of how it all works. When I did my mirror I just removed the top snap and ran the wire, I left the tether in place.

then take a long (quite long) nose pliers and twist the plastic tab. it's there so when the airbag deploys the finisher dont it ur face.
twist (inside red box 90 degrees).
