Default Run power to rear-view-mirror / Radar Detector install.

Hi DIY folks,

Has anyone run a power line up to the rear-view mirror?

If so, did you have to remove the front pillar garnish, as outlined on page INT-18 (INT.pdf) of the Nissan 370z Service Repair Manual?

INT-A.jpg

It appears Clip 2 is expected to break ( X = Always replace after every disassembly), and would require a replacement to re-attach the cover. So ...

Hoping I can benefit from someone's prior experience, and ideally avoid removing the pillar garnish. Can you run the wire and tuck it securely without having to take off the trim piece(s)?

Thanks!
