Is it tempting because of the looks or because of the way it fires? Revolvers are one of the most reliable handguns you can get, so I wouldn't worry about the Taurus messing up during normal shooting.
The best advice (as always) is to shoot as many different models and makes as you can. The answer to which one is best for you becomes much easier after that. I used to think I really wanted a particular gun (based on looks and reviews mostly) and then when I actually shot it, I found that it didn't really work for my grip and shooting style. Hands on practice and range time are always going to be the best indicators of what works for you.
