Not worth the effort, which results in gimmicky at best if you ask me.

I've never done it, but I'm pretty sure you can use it to start the car if the battery in the fob is dead.
There's a slot on the bottom left of the dash, under the traction control disable, into which you can insert the key and get the car started.
Evidently it serves a purpose.
