If you can get a good product and install for $1K it seems like it should be more popular. But there's no reason they shouldn't be able to replicate the results on other vehicles with your own. If you had seen their work, and it was acceptable to you, then I can't say you made a poor decision on your purchase. You just got unlucky. In my experience the cheaper you go, the more of risk that becomes. There is no right answer though, unfortunately.
