I love manuals, but the occasional traffic jam is irritating. My first was a 04 coupe 6speed, then I went to an 06 automatic roadster. I wasn't satisfied at all with the automatic in the 06, but I'm 6'2" and the legroom is much less in the roadsters (couldn't depress the clutch in the manuals). Basing the decision on older z models isn't logical as the 370 will have a 7 speed paddle shift compared to a 5 speed no paddle 06. So what it comes down to is probably hearing reviews on the new rev matching manual. If it works like they say then town/traffic driving might be more tolerable. Has anyone heard any reviews on the rev match manual, also any word on the shift time on the auto?
Hello and welcome

You bring up some good questions about the new 7AT, and I don't think the answers are there just quite yet. From early reviews it sounds like the new manual works very well, but I have yet to read anything about the 7AT.

I am interested to see how well it performs as compared to other aggressive automatic sports cars, but when it comes down to it the thing is still a tradition automatic and not a dual clutch auto manual. I would like to drive the new 7AT and try out the flappy paddles - but I would most certainly plan on buying the manual.

I guess it largely depends on your commute and tastes. Ask yourself why you want to stick with the Z and what it is that you like about it, undoubtedly the manual shifting is part of that experience.
