Probably. A lot depends on how well the car has been maintained. I'd want to do a good inspection of the drivetrain before sinking too much time and money into it.

Forty or fifty years ago, a car would be pretty well worn out at 75k-100k miles. Nowadays, one can expect 200k. Or more, with proper maintenance.
