Note that this is only compatible with
manual transmission vehicles.
It can be installed on top of the existing silver trim piece or installed in place of the original trim piece (as I did). I have included a picture of the shifter ring on top of the original silver trim piece for comparison.
The holes for the buttons are a little larger than they are in the stock trim piece which always annoyed me (see second picture). This kind of thing bothers me, but may not bother you. Just check it out and see.
