Why do you need the antenna adapter? One post said that you need it because without you wouldn't get any stations. Is this true and if so, why.
I have a DNX8120 that I'm thinking of installing which I had in my 350. I just plugged the existing antenna connector into the HU and had no issues.
Does the stock 370 HU have some kind of booster built-in that the 8120 doesn't?
The 370z has a booster antenna built into the car. With the 350z the antenna was just exposed. You need an adapter for the booster to work and get power from the new receiver. Also it changes the plug to the one that is needed for the new aftermarket head unit. Without it you will not get any radio stations.
