I have driven both on the same track, the same day. (Although I have never owned either)

The 370 NISMO was the better car at the limit. Better power and better balance. I have driven every example of the Z33 and Z34. The power bumps between the different models never got my attention until the NISMO 370 and I still can't believe Nissan's lawyers let the NISMO 370Z leave the factory as neutral as it is.

The VLSD is my only gripe, but that goes for both NISMO's.
