So far the tally is just shy of $700 but very capable and FUN! But a comparable unit is well over $1k. I bet in a year after the new rules come out in june they will be well under $800 for a good one. DJI and 3DR are the two companies that have the best reviews and best quality.
Also the racing drones are around $200 if you build them and they fly up to 60-80 mph.
