Thanks. The stuff on yours looks similar, but not identical, to the stuff that's on ours. Whatever it is, it definitely was intentionally sprayed on there and not something accidentally applied or road debris that somehow landed there and nowhere else in the compartment. More than likely it's some kind of protective coating that, let's face it, looks rather gross, but is probably beautifully protecting the chassis from corrosive elements. (Don't you just love that drip that's frozen in mid-drop on the left photo?) At least it's not spray-on truck-bed liner (which, in the case of a black vehicle, might actually not look that bad).
