I don't see how that crush washer would break. It is soft copper and get compressed as the drain bolt get tightened down. If the bolt is over tightened, you would strip the thread on the oil pan before break the drain washer. I imagine even if you reinstalled the drain bolt without the washer, it would probably just dripping instead of pouring.
Based on your description of the rapid oil leak, my guess is that they probably forgot to tighten the drain bolt and it eventually backed out from the vibration.
I think the engine might be ok if it had at least 1 quart of oil before shutting down.

The head mechanic at the dealership I went to called me and said that the crush washer on the drain bolt broke and mightve been because the mechanic working on my car tighted it too much or so. They ran diagnostics test, gave me new oil filter, etc. I asked them to log it in the history of the car that this fuk up happened and that if there were any problems in the future related to this then it'd be on them. They agreed to it on paperwork and we both left. Car seems to drive fine for now.
