Thats not true. Years back someone had a thread showing the gains from a dyno. They were very close to the expensive long tube intakes and keeps more power mid range. That was in combo with the AFE dry flow filters. Many complain about the long tubes having heat soak due to the metal piping...

Also, the description from HPS is showing dyno numbers for the tubes alone:

"Fits Nissan 2009-2013 370Z 3.7L VQ37VHR. Replaces Stock OEM Restrictive Air Intake Hose, improves air flow, reduces heat soak and does NOT trigger check engine light. Delivers dyno-proven performance gains of +6.77 Whp, +6.38 Ft/lbs without any re-tuning. "
