I was speaking with a tech at one my local Nissan dealers about this back in 2013. You are exactly right that it seems a simple rail swap would do it, and that's exactly what he planned to try first. But before he ever did, Nissan put Recaros in the Z Nismo making it much easier

Since we never made it that far, I am unable to confirm the necessary steps to use the Juke seats
