I've owned both and have replied a couple times. The Z is a sports car the BMW isn't. The Z is reliable, the BMW isn't. If you don't want to shift for yourself, don't buy a sports car. My Bimmer was a stick, but that's just me...I wouldn't own an automatic. Without a manual the BMW would have been totally boring. It did handle nice, but no where near the Z. Like has been said multiple times, if you decide on the Bimmer, do not buy, lease. They break all the time.
