ESCLs Revisions A, B, and C have been recalled. They first started installing Rev D versions in late 2010 models IIRC. Except there were numerous Rev D failures documented on this forum before even the recall was issued. They started removing them sometime in the 2011 model year. Luckily, my 2011 Nismo doesn't have one.
Completely agree with the rest though. The real fix Nissan should have instituted was to recall all Z's with a steering lock, remove the steering lock, and then reflash the computer so that it doesn't care about a steering lock anymore.
