Like ZBrah and ayrton88, every MT I've had was stiffer when cold. Get someone that knows a bit about MTs, have them take it for a test drive, and see what they think.
My guess is that you need to change the lube (as per barncobob above) or the synchros are worn.
Unless you know the lube has been changed recently, I'd go ahead and change it. You should be able to DIY the lube change - several threads on this site.
