Swirls and such won't require new paint. Use the cost of repairing/repainting the mirror to negotiate a lower price.
Or walk. I probably would if the scratch requires more than a good buffing.

If you took the Infiniti to a body shop, you need to find another one. There are shops out there that do good, honest work.
If you took the I to a dealer, that's what you can expect.
