I have not had an issue. It doesn't get as bitter cold here though. The capacitor version is supposed to work better in extreme environments, but I wouldn't be surprised if it's having trouble with minus F temps.

Also, did you purchase it through the Spytec site or from a random vendor on Amazon? Knock-off dash cams are very popular in this price category. Not that this is some high end name brand product, but the knock-offs are just made with inferior parts that don't last.
