Mine was too, at first. Then I figured out that the dealer did a crap job of installation. You just have to adjust the metal pieces that go over the bolt holes and make sure they are aligned, they're built poorly and slide out of place easily

Thanks for the info. I will give that a try. Not sure whether or not mine has metal pieces or a nylon plug.
