This is not new. The driver side of the tank has the same exact flange as the passenger side and you can put a stock fuel pump module over there.
The same was true for the 350z, and the same was true for the 300ZX.
In fact, in countless RWD sports cars of various manufacturers, this scenario exists.
But it is not a professional solution and it has many inherent flaws. The OP will get to experience them and share as his usage continues. It will work out OK for some light use and some scenarios, and its OK on a DIY level. But it is not a viable product-level solution, hence why none of the several Z performance shops have ever made a "kit" out of it.
I cant even count how many times this has been done by guys who needed a quick/cheap/temporary twin pump to support big power on the dyno.
