After a 5-6 year hiatus, I've finally rejoined the Z family.
Got rid of my 350Z when I got orders overseas, as I didn't see a point of keeping a car I'd never drive. I've been stationed in Japan since 2010. Was in Okinawa from Jan 2010 to Jan 2013. Moved to Tokyo in Jan 2013 and will be here until 2017.
I was planning on flying home with the wife to visit family. I figured, what the hell, I'll sign up and see if there are any good Nismo Zs for sale, pretty set on only a Nismo. Lo and behold, I came across one that seemed perfect. Long story short, I took a gamble. After I arrive home, bought a one-way ticket, and flew out with my fingers crossed on this car being perfect. I got extremely lucky here, as the previous owner is a great guy and took damn good care of it. Needless to say, I drove that car cross-country to its new storage spot.
The previous owner took care of damn near everything preventative-wise. Transmission replaced, SouthBend CSC, flywheel, and clutch, Z1 34-row oil cooler, intake filters, and an incredible audio system.
I have a handful of beginning plans for it, to include:
Painted headlights
ARK or FI full exhaust (i grabbed some TopSpeed axlebacks as a quick sound improvement)
STI-R lenses and cutoff trimming
HKS Hipermax GTIV Coilovers
Defi 60mm gauges to replace the current center ones
Thinking heavily about some Work Meisters for some reason
Eventually have the front resprayed, rock chips suck
I've had a handful of cars before I ended up getting back into a Z, including some econoboxes.
