Replace instead of last is rather sad. Especially for things in excess of $1,000. That's a lot of money for anyone every few years. Could be spent in other places. I'm going to try and fix the tv myself and see how it goes. I can swallow $100 in parts if they don't work. I'd go on a rampage if i bought another $1,000 tv to have it die in under 3 years.
