I agree, the wheels look great, but the gap is bad, the lower profile tires isn't helping you any either. I'm not a big fan of aggressive drop, usually only go with about 1" on all my cars. I run Eibachs on my Mini and on the Z. Here is a short review when I first installed them:

You can always switch them back to stock if you don't like the ride.

A 285/35 in the rear will help not scrape the rear canisters. It's 22.5 mm taller overall compared to the 295/30. A 305/30 would help too, but it's only about a 6mm difference.
