Default Auto Week Mag, No Prophets They...

According to the January 15, 2001 issue of Autoweek Magazine (Volume 51, Issue 3, page 30), a 71' Datsun 240Z in rough condition sold at a Palm Springs auction for $2,200. Understandable. Then they write: "The 240Z market will never take off. With more than 115,000 sold in the United States from 1970 to 1973, there are always more for sale than there are eager buyers...even great 240Zs rarely bring more than $8000...240Zs are great cars to drive, and an important part of automotive history. They'll never be worth much."

Check out the asking prices for 240Zs today and come to your own conclusions. And, considering how few 370Zs have been sold, 2009-2014, the latter is super rare. Hold on to your cars.
