I would assume so, the Z in that exhaust definitely has stock cats. TP's would be a good amount louder and provide a more raw sound. Only complaint about the Tanabe is the Y-pipe. General rule of best power/flow is Y<H<X.

But I completely understand what you mean about being particular haha, I spent months researching systems!

I went with the Bassani because I too don't plan on messing with the cats. It has a more progressive design (2.25" cat to resonators, 2.5" resonators back) giving it a better flow from stock cats (2"), as compared to the standard of 2.5" all the way through.

MXP also provides a great noise with stock cats, but has an H-pipe rather than an X-pipe crossover. However I ended up opting out because I wanted the X crossover and liked the ARK/Fast Intentions style muffler layout more.

My Z is my daily driver so I didn't want over the top loud, but was really looking to bring out more of the car's character. Hope I was able to help.
