Dude, I know exactly what you went through. It happens with owners of any car. There are people here who believe the Z was heaven sent just so JC would have some wheels when he came back. Seriously.

This is a common misconception. The Mustang was never intended as a drag car. It just so happened that drag racing is a very popular facet of American car culture. In reality, the car was designed as a sporty coupe and could really do anything the owner wanted to do with it.

Sorry, but this hp per liter/cylinder stuff is also something that's old and tired. It's common knowledge that no manufacturer tunes their engines to maximum power -- this is especially true for the American V8s. They are tuned very conservatively to balance power and fuel efficiency. They are also very conservatively geared.
