The feds (obama and epa) are pushing everyone to electric cars. To do it. Make the emissions and fuel avg. standards so high. That the manufactures have to downsize engines and cheat on emissions. So you're seeing more turbo 4's coming out, and VW cheating (who else is cheating?). The next step is to phase in more electric cars. Believe 2017~2018 is a beginning of the end of the dino fueled car. They won't be around in 2025.
The next problem we will face is that the electric grid will NOT handle the extra load from the electric cars. By 2018~2020, half of the coal plants will be retired, and the rest by 2030. I work in the industry, and see what's coming.
So the turbo 4 in the next Z makes sense for the near future.
