Let me say this about the whole uprev vs. ecutek thing.
Uprev was the only real tuning solution for performance. Ecutek then released their software with their new features. I was on board with this....considering I had a maxed out uprev tune of 331whp and 270tq (stillen g3, Stillen UD pulley, Z1 upper manifold, FI LTH, and FI non res exhaust). Keep in mind, this is one of the top uprev tuners that was tuning my car (located in Washington state). But I was curious to see what ecutek could do. Could I hit 340? Was more Tq in the cards?
Another local shop with a master ecutek tuner got the software. Things were looking promising. Several guys I know had their car tuned with the ecutek software ( I wanted to wait and see). Their NA mods should have resulted high 310's to low 320's with uprev ( I at one point had similar mods making 318whp). They were still under these numbers with ecutek, bc the tuner doesn't know the platform well enough.
I was simply turned off from ecutek due to a lack of the tuner putting out. Not so much the software. I'd rather have a better performing car with outdated software from a tuner that knows what he is doing. Even if the old software can't really get into the VVEL. If we had a better tuner that knew the platform, things may be different. I still make 320/270 on my new nismo with uprev (stillen g3, Z1 mani, Berk Test pipes, Fi non res exhaust, 4.08 FD).
