I was told that the AVIC-8000 ground wire needed to be directly grounded to chassis (not using the black wire from the Metra plug which appeared to plug into the factory black wire). I DID do that, but was wondering: Should I ground the "for subaru only wire" and connect that to the ASWC-1? It looks like I will need to grab ignition 12V and install the pins for the other two control wires. I think there is a 3.5mm jack on the back of the AVIC for the AWSC-1 to plug into. Any other gotcha's?

After some additional research, it looks like that subaru only wire does not get used at all. Grounding the black one in the video (pin 15) and the black one on the ASWC-1 should be all that is needed for chassis. Going to match the pins and the three wires from the factory plug so that I don't have to cut the factory harness. Took them out of a spare Metra plug. Wish there was an extra power wire in the factory plug.
