Thanks Trips & SouthArk370Z! I put the old battery in and it worked so I was able to make it to work today on time, thank God! It was weird because I've never in my life bought a pair of new batteries and they didn't work. I still have my receipt so I'm going to exchange it and hopefully they will be good. I bought the CR2032 and put it in right for sure.

The replacement battery is either no good or the wrong type.

You should not have to get it reprogrammed if the battery need replacing.

Assuming it worked fine before.

The fob should not need to be reprogrammed. The code is stored in permanent, non-volatile memory. Unless it is subjected to a very strong EM field, the programming will not change.
